The Two Pillars of the RCM Examination
To achieve an official RCM Certificate for a given level (Level 5 and above), a student must successfully pass both a Practical Exam (performing on your instrument) and the corresponding Written Exam (music theory and history).
Pillar 1: The Practical Examination
The practical exam is a performance-based assessment that tests four core areas of your skill:
